Winter Escape Plan – round 2

WEP Event

After an intense opening day during Vesterbro RAW we decided to present a second round of Winter Escape Plan – to crank up the heat a bit and to invite more people into the escape room filled with green trees, sand, flowers, birds, bumble bees, wasps, flies and maybe even a summer thunder storm could be found.

Beats & Ord visits Oslo

tos

On the 10th of October Beats & Ord will take part in Music Technology Days 2017 (Musikkteknologidagene 2017) at the Norweigan Academy of Music (Norges musikkhøgskole) in Oslo, Norway. Beats & Ord will be presented in a new and more refined version that is all digital, using video instead of physical signs.  It will be great fun and interesting to meet the public, and see the installation in action again.

Ars Electronica, the past summer and the future

The summer passed way to fast and it has been a few months of catching up after our workshop in Bergen. Currently we are working on a larger physical 3-D installation that hopefully will meet the public before the end of the year.

During September we got the opportunity to visit Ars Electronica in Linz, Austria a got loads of new inspiration. Traveling back to Gothenburg we unfortunately was informed that Cat Eyed People’s Playground must move already before the end of October and at present we are trying to get all settled and find a new site for our workshop, events and exhibitions. So at present everything except looking for a new location has come to a stand, but we hope to be back in ‘business’ by the beginning of November.

Digital Technology in Arts Education, DTAE, Bergen Norway

A couple of weeks ago we had the opportunity to both be part of and attend the conference Digital Technology in Arts Education DTAE, at Western Norway University of Applied Science, in Bergen Norway. Thanks to a Mobility Funding from the Nordic Culture Point we were able to go there and thanks to an invite from the conference we held a Slot Car Music workshop with the conference participants. A thoroughly inspiring conference, new acquaintances and beautiful surroundings.

So we will keep ourselves busy 🙂

March and already April

CEPP

It has been a couple of hectic months and all of a sudden it was April. During February and March we hosted four Word Jams at Brunnen. We could have wished for more participants but other than that it were brilliant and creative events. At present we are evaluating and working with the reports for the funding we received.

Next time will be during the International Science Festival Gothenburg in May when we will guide six school-classes through the word-jam-jungle. That will be great fun!

During the festival we also host three events together with Brunnen all with a focus on hip hop and our exhibition Beats & Ord.

At the end of May we are of to Bergen, Norway, with Slot Car Music were we will participate in the conference Digital Technology in Arts Education.

Last but not least we have repainted Cat Eyed People’s Playground so that it is ready for take off in June.

WordJam Norden February 2017

jam_event1

On the 11th of February next year we will host the first WordJam Norden. It will be a smaller jam and takes place at Brunnen in Gothenburg, Sweden. Everyone is welcome but we recommend people to have a basic knowledge of Swedish, Danish or Norwegian since the jam will be held in these languages.

The jam will be the summary of the pre-project funded by Nordic Culture Point and after the jam we will evaluate the project and define the next steps.

In March we will host two (maybe three) local WordJam Göteborg. Dates and place are not set yet and these are funded by the City of Gothenburg’s project fund Pronto.

But first WordJam Norden! The link to the event you’ll find here.

Welcome!
